GRAND LEDGE AREA HISTORICAL SOCIETY DATES TO REMEMBER

August 6 – Gently Used Accessories Sale, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Beagle Cafe
The Grand Ledge Area Historical Society is hosting a fundraiser and have a Gently Used Accessories Sale on Saturday, August 6, 2016, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at Beagle’s Cafe and Bakery, 214B S. Bridge St., Grand Ledge.  We are currently seeking donations of purses, scarves, belts, watches, wallets and all kinds of jewelry for both men and women.  We will also feature art work from the estate of Hudson and Kathryn Deming.  To donate, contact Ann Lawrence at 517-627-6632 or Marie Brown at 517-627-1352.  Thank you for your support!

October 4 – Trash or Treasure Appraisals, 7 p.m., Opera House
Have you wondered about that clock, the piece of pottery or that item you just aren’t sure what it is that you inherited or purchased?  Sponsored by the Grand Ledge Area Historical Society, join us for the “Trash or Treasure” program on October 4, 2016, at 7:30 p.m. at the Grand Ledge Opera House.  Find out if the items you cherish are trash or treasure (not that you will treasure them any less).  Each attendee may bring one item (no coins or jewelry please) to be appraised by on of our local experts including Jesse Lasorda, Gary and Mary Jo Kast, Cindy Heine, Tom Potter, Vicki McMillin and Stan Baxter.  All Grand Ledge Area Historical Society programs are open to the general public.  We would love to have you join us for this fun program!

October 6 – Purse Party Bingo, 6 p.m., Opera House  
The Grand Ledge Area Historical Society will host the 2nd Annual Purse Party Bingo!  The fundraiser will be held at the Grand Ledge Opera House.  Doors open at 6 p.m. with play beginning at 6:30 p.m.  Mayor Kalmin Smith, back by popular demand, will again be the MC for the event.  There will be 15 bingo games with 15 beautiful purses as the bingo prizes, including one vintage purse from the Salvage Yard.  These purses have a retail value of at least $40.  There are lots of great door prizes too.  Come support the Historical Society and have a great time too!

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!!
The Grand Ledge Area Historical Society is seeking volunteers (high school or older) to help with scanning and data entry of information for our website.  This would be a valuable contribution to the community and we appreciate any time you can devote to this effort.  The work will be performed at the library and training will be provided.
